More than Gifts this Holiday Season
More than the newest toy, latest movie,
coolest shirt, or smallest iPod®, many
parents want to give their children the
intangible things this holiday season – a
sense of independence, confidence, and
accomplishment. Unfortunately, these gifts
aren’t easy to wrap… or are
they? By giving the gift of camp, parents
know their children are opening more than
a gift – they are opening the door
to opportunity, growth, experience, and
lasting memories.
Camp provides children with:
- Contact with nature
- Participation in human powered activities
- Primary relationships with adults and
peers
- The ability to take healthy risks in
a safe and nurturing environment
- Time for free play
The camp experience changes children.
According to American Camp Association® (ACA)
research, funded by the generous support
of Lilly Endowment Inc., camp builds skills
necessary to prepare campers to assume
roles as successful adults.
